Play & Practice

Posted on Oct 9th, 2007 by BrightAbyss~ : Anthropologist BrightAbyss~
Everything after one realizes kosmic-wholeness becomes PLAY. And not play in the sense of superficiality - but a serious play; a dynamic wonder-full & and energizing PLAY where all things seem to glow with divine reality. All things are still what they are – but only more so.

As for anchoring this PLAY in my own life: I value a holistic approach that includes at least the following 6 key practices:

1. Psychodynamic Work - a constant processing of ‘shadow’ & self-mind contents - aided also by a therapist.

2. Family & Community Involvement – taking responsibility for the ‘quality of life’ of others (family, friends and the community), and engaging in open and honest communications in conversation, professional life, volunteering - and in public dialogue.

3. Earth Responsibility & Engagement - participating in democratic processes (voting) and working with stakeholders to change systems and create sustainable institutional and structural reforms - while living an ecologically sensitive lifestyle.

4. Personal Learning – expanding perspectives and knowledge through reading, discussions, research and learning.

5. Bodywork - martial arts training, exercise, nutrition, power yoga, relaxation and stretching.

6. Meditation – deep mindfulness techniques.

This is the play & practice of my sadhana.
